The 2007 Wonthaggi Blue Light Disco

The Dizzy Biz / Melbourne Comedy Festival 2019

The Dizzy Biz want to take you on a journey to a time you’d hope you could forget – the mid 2000s. The number one song is ‘Hey There Delilah’, The OC had just aired its final episode and the teens of Wonthaggi celebrate one last Blue Light Disco before the school year starts again.

The 2007 Wonthaggi Blue Light Disco (Nominee Best Comedy 2018 Melbourne Fringe)  is everything that being a tween is – fun, cringeworthy and super gross. Think Full Frontal meets Big Mouth.

Project Info

In this sketch comedy bonanza performed by Alex Cooper (Ja'mie: Private School Girl), Kayla Hamill (La Mama, Clown Doctors) and Jordan Barr (RAW Comedy, Triple J) you’ll be presented with a series of characters you may find at your local police supervised underage disco. From the step dad chaperone who’s desperately trying to connect with his partner’s ‘emo’ daughter, to two young girls discovering their sexuality through the medium of Twilight. The Dizzy Biz bring you another night of sharp tongued sketches and wild frivolity.
